My prefered operating system is Debian, but I have spent much more time using FreeBSD to the extent that I am comfortable creating my own port but a little unsure of creating a .deb (although some of that may be the fact that I don't need to do nearly as much to get debian to work.

I also have a soft spot for reusing old computers. For example, I recently installed Debian on a Pentium that was old enough to contain the floating point bug, and 12 meg ram. The computer has two ethernet cards and is running dhcp3, sshd, bind9, shorewall and linux 2.6. The maching connects five other machines to the internet via DSL.
