Not sure if this is the appropriate place to put this... but it seems logical. I note we have spam problems again. Are there any thoughts given to restricting IP-edits to prevent spam? While editing a talk page today... I was getting this:

Database error
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in
the software. The last attempted database query was: 
(SQL query hidden)
from within function "SearchUpdate::doUpdate". MySQL returned error
"1016: Can't open file: 'searchindex.MYI' (errno: 145) (localhost)".

yeah

i've mentioned it to jimbo, i don't know what the problem is w/ it or why that happens -- i'm guessing ti's a result of some antispam stuff he's done recently, but can't really say. the changes are made, but it doesn't display them on the edit. --Dave 13:29, 4 Jan 2006 (EST)
