Help talk:Style Guidelines

From FreeBSDwiki
Jump to: navigation, search

To continue my question I started on the wrong page Talk:Partitioning Tips and Tricks. Should there be some consistant style guidelines for talk pages? My main questions are:

  1. Do we seperate topics by giving them each section headers? Or do we use the horizontal lines?
  2. When an issue in the talk page is resolved... should the talk conversation be deleted? For a specific example... now that I've created the page I asked about under the above link, should the conversation about creating it be deleted? Any further discussion can be placed on the new article's talk page, and that thread is pretty much useless to future discussions.

section headers are a good idea

...since they give a good visual break. since everything is timestamped, I don't see the need to delete the content of talk: pages, since folks can see that it's an old subject (and if anyone has questions on why a particular article is the way it is, they can see it there usually...) --Dave 22:46, 24 Dec 2005 (EST)

colorizing text for indication

The colors and styles of these templates are similar to those on forums.freebsd.org . A space is left in after the colored text templates to not confuse the reader with punctuation not within the template. ~ Sidetone 21:04, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
