For custom, non-specific linux package and up to date setups, we may be able to do without the following packages: linux_base-f10, linux_base-c6, or linux_base-gentoo-stage3

/etc/

/etc/fstab

linproc         /compat/linux/proc      linprocfs       rw 0 0

/etc/rc.conf

linux_enable="YES"

/etc/devfs.conf

link /tmp shm

/compat/linux/

/compat/linux/ should have at least the following sub-directories: etc/ lib/ proc/ usr/

% cd /compat/linux/
% mkdir etc/ lib/ proc/ usr/

/compat/linux/etc/

domainname	my.yp.domainname
ypserver	my.yp.server

/compat/linux/etc/nsswitch.conf
