This category covers all things Domain Name Service (DNS) related, mostly focusing on the Berkeley Internet Name Daemon (BIND) server.
DNS services are not specific to FreeBSD; you can run DNS servers on Mac OS, Windows, or just about any operating system ever written. Essentially DNS is just a translation service between IP addresses and Domain Names (e.g., "freebsdwiki.net"). The most ubiquitous DNS program is BIND; it is the default that comes with the Base system in FreeBSD, but it is not the only one -- see also djbdns or PowerDNS.
To add articles to the DNS category, append [[Category:DNS]] to the end of the article.
