why use a hex editor? why not use ethereal? it handles tcpdump files fantabulously....and it's avail on *nix and windows AND macs....

cd /usr/ports make search key=hex | grep editor | more
from those, /usr/ports/editors/hexpert and editors/hexedit looked interesting
